Get to Know Anna

Anna's primary business includes sewing children's clothing and making jewelry. She used her loan to make necklaces, earrings, and other custom pieces that she sells in Kampala and Kiboga. Her future plans are to expand business and possibly begin building homes that can be rented out as well as continue buying more materials for sewing and jewelry.

Get to know Sarah's Children:

Sarah's 2017 Update:

Sarah currently sells passion juice, water, and tailors and resells clothing. She used her last loan to pay off her fridge and is now able to sell more because the drinks are cold.

She has to put a pause on her poultry business because it was not stable. Her husband helps with the chickens, but she needs more capital to start the chicken coop back up. She found that raising chickens were risky because they took too long to mature.

Looking ahead, she hopes to receive another loan and add more stock, meanwhile, she is focused on paying off her current loan.

Sarah's 2016 Update:

Sarah is a leader in her community and a successful business owner. She has several biological children who are now adults, and is providing a home and family to a set of brothers who were orphaned. Sarah runs a poultry business in which she raises and sells chickens and their eggs, and also runs a tailoring business on the side. We are working to help Sarah grow her business even more, so that she will be able to provide training and employment for vulnerable mothers who are at risk of child abandonment.
