Margaret
Margaret is a member of a group of mothers in Kiboga, Uganda who have opened their families and homes to raising orphaned children in their community. She is raising Elisa, Joshua, and Ryan, in addition to a whole house full of other kids. She is a rural farmer, and earns most of her money by taking bananas to sell in a market far from home. She is a part of our economic empowerment, and hopes to use her small business loan to diversify the crops that she grows, and to add high-profit vegetables to her farm.
You can partner with Margaret to empower her to raise her children well, and see her family thrive. $360 or $30 per month will fund her training and small business loan for one year.
Margaret's 2017 Update:
Margaret is doing well, her funding is being used to sell bananas, dry cassava (which makes pancakes), and buying more stock to resell. She currently takes the bus 2 to 3 times a week and travels about 18 miles to sell the goods at a trading center and market. And Margaret is learning that buying in bulk is the best for her business and has high hopes for her future sales. She has also spent some of the money from loans to expand her farms.
As for children, Margaret currently cares for Joshua, Alisa, Ryanne, Hasson, Jumju, Jeremiah, Ssuna, Elijah, and Solemon. She hopes to afford all of their school fees, continue finding them transportation to school, and feed and clothe them.
Get to Know Anna
Anna's primary business includes sewing children's clothing and making jewelry. She used her loan to make necklaces, earrings, and other custom pieces that she sells in Kampala and Kiboga. Her future plans are to expand business and possibly begin building homes that can be rented out as well as continue buying more materials for sewing and jewelry.
