Joyce Wairimu
Get to Know Joyce
Joyce is vibrant, energetic, and so funny. She enjoys working with teens, and volunteers to lead the youth group at her church. When we met Joyce, she was a newly single mother. She had endured years of domestic violence, and when it escalated to the point that she was hospitalized, she asked her parents to help her escape the situation with her three children. Joyce has worked with Under the Same Tree to apprentice as a caterer, and to start her own catering business. She has been able to see her daughter graduate high school, and support her studies to become a pediatric nurse.

Michelle is 19 years old, and was one of our first high school graduates! She is now studying to become a pediatric nurse.

Stanley
Stanley is now 14 years old and attends a boarding school about 2 hours away from home. He enjoys school, especially Chemistry, and does well. He is hoping to become an architect when he gets older, but other than schoolwork, Stanley loves to dance and watch movies! Stanley has an older sister, and a younger brother. He is a very talented artist, and likes sketching cartoons based on the Disney movie, "Cars." He likes learning about agriculture.
Joel
Joel is now 13 years old and has entered class P7. Next year he will attend boarding school, but for right now, he is the only one at home and he likes it! Joel's favorite subject is science and wants to become an engineer when he grows up. He has an older brother and sister, and enjoys learning about agriculture. He is a talented artist, and likes drawing sketches based on the Disney movie, "Cars".
