Alice

Get to Know Alice

Alice is brave. She faces the challenges life has thrown at her without wavering. She can be solemn, but her eyes dance with laughter when she makes jokes with friends, and her smile is not easily hidden. She is charting a path marked by resilience. But her journey is just beginning.

Alice has been in our program since 2014, just months after her husband passed away from illness. During that time, she almost lost everything, as her in-laws tried to claim all of her possessions. She used to rise at 2AM to prepare and sell tea and breakfast foods to commuters - UTST has been walking with Alice to stabilize her income. She now sells cakes and snack foods to convenience stores, and she sells school uniforms as supplemental income.
